Click Change advanced power settings. I tried connecting two different flash drives and noting happened but they work fine with the other two USB’s on the left so at this point I am totally stumped and will leave it alone.

I can understand your inconvenience towards this issue. I have the same question I do not have any error messages when the devices are connected. Use Device Manager to scan for hardware changes.

Open the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter: In trying method 4 where I uusb the USB Controllers Can you tell me exactly which of these items I need to uninstall because all of them give me that option and I do not want to uninstall the incorrect Item.
